Well... I really hadn't realized that it has been a few weeks since I've posted... A lot's been going on since the last message.
We had a great Thanksgiving 1/2 week. Thursday, we all loaded up the car and went up to Newton, KS to visit my grandma and to see the MORTON-side and eat together. We had about 36 people in grandma's house. I don't ever remember a time when we had THAT many people in that house. It was fun, though. We had some 4v4 football going on in the back 2 acres and soem kite-flying... some chasing by the young ones and just an all-around-good time. It was really nice to see all of my cousins and their families. I love those times.
On Friday, we went over to Jeanise's folks for our 2nd Thanksgiving. We saw John, Mary, and the girls, who came up from Alb, NM (of course, I'm not going to spell out that city) to visit. We ate, watched football, played cards, and ates some more. The girls got to shop a bit, but I thought they were crazy for going out.
The last several weeks have been coming down to "crunch time." First basketball game was last Tuesday. We beat Stillwater at home pretty bad... something like around 20 points or so... 19 actually now that I think about it. And Friday night, we played the #3 team in the state and WON in OVERTIME! That was a really stressful night, but a LOT of fun! The kids really worked hard and pulled it all together. We have a game at Choctaw Tuesday night... and then Thursday, Friday, and Saturday we're hosting our Edmond Tournament... so this week is going to be a VERY... LONG... ONE.
Thursday, I stayed home because I have been having a scratchy throat and was just run-down. Turned out... Joel gave me (he would say shared with me) his strep-throat from the week before. Just LOVE that boy! It's been a tough 4 days not being able to kiss my kids and my wife. I don't want them to get sick (although, that might be too late for Jeanise...oops). Makes me appreciate them more.
Have a great week!
