That 'ol snake in the grass...

First off... BUMMER THAT THE CELTICS LOST LAST NIGHT. They'd better get a win on the road, or it's going to be a short week.

And now... the REST of the story...
So I'm running some books home to mom from my school. Before I go to the front door, I decide to check out the duck nest (as I do every time I come by) and see how things are going. As I'm looking over the bushes I see 1 egg in there and a bunch of duck feathers. Mom's been sitting on her eggs... good for her. And check that out! Dad put a rubber snake by the nest so that the turtles don't come and get them. (he and mom mentioned the part about hoping that the turtles stay away a lot) So I go inside and tell them, "good idea about the rubber snake by the duck nest." WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!? What rubber snake?!?!
WHAT DO YOU MEAN... WHAT RUBBER SNAKE?!?!?! So dad goes running out there with the duck fury that he has his account here:
Dad attacked the snake with great abandon while you cut the snake's escape route and kept him spotted for the assassin! Then held the snake down while Dad disected the snake to see how many of the duck eggs it got. Three left, but don't know if the hen will come back to the nest or not, yada, yada! Cute little duckies almost ready to be hatched.
We're hoping that mom will return... but it was quite an event.

Look what the cat dragged in...

I went to pick Joel up at his Daycare school today and THIS is what greeted me... The Mel Gibson BRAVEHEART look-a-like. I later found out that he arrived to Hands On like this... and he had his face painted at Rose Union. I think that they had a carnival (last 2 days of school) and he chose to have his face painted. WHen we went over to pick Lindsay up... she went sprinting over to Joel for a hug (like usual) and she DEAD STOPPED... went around him... and came straight to me! :-) A couple of Lindsay's classmates kept walking up to him and stared at his face. He'd walk away... they'd follow and get in front of him and re-stare. Quite funny!

Just one for the road

Ok... This is getting really old, Mr. Doc Rivers and team. Can the Celtics get just 1 ROAD WIN this series?!?!?!? I don't know what it was this season, but most of my girls' wins came on the road and we didn't play as well at home. Go figure that one! Game 5 is back at the Garden tonight and hope that after tonight's WIN that they'll go back into Cleveland and take care of business and finish this thing and move on.
Any takers?

'Dats my Kids

Both of the kids did VERY well at school today, so I took them by Sonic and got them both a sundae (buy one, get one free!). Their sundae was bigger than my blast... go figure; but here are pictures that are worth a 1,000 bites.

Isn't it funny...

Kids are so funny sometimes. It's amazing the silly things that they do when they're little. I guess that the funny part is that they always find some way to make you laugh at the weirdest times. Things like:
  • Lindsay run-hopping all over the house with her diaper 1/2 on
  • Joel coming up with some new voice to talk to us in (that's my influence)
  • Lindsay giving mommy or daddy one of her sinister grins when she knows that she's acting cute.
  • Joel riding super-fast on a tricycle during our walks. When he get to a cola-sack (sp?) he speeds around the side-walk like he in NASCAR.
  • Lindsay doing a super-cute smile in the hot-tub, when the water comes right under her chin and all you see is her head.

That's the recent. It's pretty cute what kids can do. Hope that I can remember these when they're teenagers and doing something stupid. :-)
